Q: I’m concerned about booking ahead for future travel – what are my options?
A: The "Book Now, Pay Later" rate allows for free cancellation or amendment up to 15 days prior to arrival.

Q: Does my hotel room come with a kitchen/cooking facility?
A: There are no cooking facilities in resort rooms, these are available in the 2-bedroom apartments only. We have free-to-use BBQs located next to the tennis courts for house guests with BBQ utensils available from reception.

Q: What time is check-in and check-out?
A: Check-in is from 02:00pm and check-out is at 10:00am. Reception is open 07:30am to 05:30pm daily with afterhours check-in available at McKenzie's restaurant.

Q: What dining options are available at the resort?
A: Our resort restaurant ‘McKenzie's on 75’ is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The best time to visit K'gari (Fraser Island) and K'gari Beach Resort really depends on what you would like to do. The island has a mild, temperate climate year-round, so there's always something different to enjoy.

Dry Season (May to October):

Overall: Considered the best time to visit. The weather is cooler and drier with lower humidity and minimal rainfall, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking and fishing.
Weather: Average temperatures range from about 14∘C to 25∘C.
Activities:
- Whale Watching: This is the prime time for whale watching as humpback whales migrate past our front door on 75 Mile Beach, with the season running from July to November.
- Fishing: "Tailor season" is between April and October, making it a great time for fishing on the beaches.
- Hiking and 4WDing: The cooler temperatures and drier conditions make for more comfortable hiking and easier navigation on the sand dunes.

Warmer Months (September to February):

Overall: This is an excellent time for swimming and enjoying the island's famous lakes and creeks.
Weather: Average temperatures range from about 20∘C to 30∘C, with higher humidity and more rainfall, especially from January to March.
Activities:
- Swimming: The crystal-clear lakes, like Lake McKenzie and Lake Wabby, and creeks, such as Eli Creek, are perfect for a refreshing dip in the warm weather.
- Rainforests: While there may be more rain with tropical afternoon storms, it can make the rainforests even more lush and vibrant.
- 4WDing: Exploring the over 1200kms of sand tracks is a year-round activity with endless entertainment.

Ultimately, the "best" time depends on your personal preferences. For cooler, drier weather and specific activities like whale watching, May to October is your best bet. If you want to swim in the lakes and don't mind the warmer weather, then September to February is an ideal time.
